MISSION OF ASIATIC EMPIRE

Kwon, the founder of Asiatic Empire and affiliated projects such as Asian Hip
Hop Summit, Aziatik Rhythmz 90.7FM KPFK LA, Ghetto Musik, Double Standard Lunar
New Year Festival, AziatikArtsLA listserve, and Jeet Kune Flow open mic, has
been producing events featuring Korean, Asian, and Pacific Islander performers
since October 2001. "Asiatic" means anyone in America of Asian or
Pacific Islander descent. "Empire" is a metaphor expressing the empowerment
of a unified pan-Asiatic people in America.
The mission of Asiatic Empire and affiliated projects:
[1] to promote the development of outstanding and original Asiatic music talent
[2] to promote justice, anti-imperialism, anti-racism, and respect for traditional
Korean, Asian, and Pacific Islander art forms through music & cultural events
targeting Asiatic youth (junior high to college)
[3] to promote the arts as an alternative to gangs amongst the Korean and Asiatic
youth of Koreatown, Los Angeles
[4] to maintain and oversee the thriving, K-Town LA centered, teen-dominated
arts subculture and underground scene created by Asiatic Empire in 2001
[5] to research, devise, and disseminate an Asiacentric education and version
of history that empowers the Asiatic people of America
